Most people think that Whistler Blackcomb Mountain will be closed down for the Olympics in 2010. People also think that If Whistler Blackcomb is open the crowed would be to big to ride the mountain. This will not be the case during the the 2010 Winter Olympics in British Colombia Canada

I was told by trusted connections at the company and also on the Whistler Blackcomb website that it will be the most enjoyable riding you may ever do.This is Because most think the way i listed above. Why not get out and enjoy some riding, take in some of the Winter Games and live life.

The fact that the Peak to Peak Gondola that connects Whistler mountain To Blackcomb mountain will keep more people at the Summit levels of both mountains by interchanging mountains without heading down to the Base of the mountain. This will make the mountain seam empty and make for great riding. I wonder how many people have thought of that over the years. Well now this is a reality. If you have ever been here you know just how special Whistler can be. This mountain calls you when you sleep. When you come on Holiday here you never want to leave this magic place.

I Wish I had someone to make a Holiday Camplaint too last December

Last Year was ruff I was all set to go to Breckenridge for a Vacation. Work was going good everything was set. I was packed and ready fly about one week out. When the whole world fell apart my car crapped out on the way to work. Had it towed and fixed. Two days later again even worse. The damages were so bad it wipe my spending money clean out of my pockets one problem at a time. I was going to barrow but that would have set me back to the stone age with starting a business and all I was doing so for the first time I did not get my way with the Mountain it hurt bad.

I know next time to take out Holiday Complaint Insurance for a few reasons.

1) So that I will never loss out on a big sum of money by missing a trip that has been paid in full.

2) Being we like to Snowboard and take risks it make great sense that wee all do this from now on. It would be nice to travel with a clear head free from these worries.

3) Everyone else is doing it so why don't I Lol

In this episode the Boys are in New Zealand training for the upcoming
New Zealand open It is the place to be in the summer. This is proof that it's always snowing somewhere in the world like Jessie said. The view is amazing from what I seen on the TV wow massive really massive in size.

If your not falling your not getting any better well said Jessie. The kid thought he had Jessie by saying he has not fallen in months. We learn from our mistakes once we stop progression stops. Jessie says with pain comes reward.

Jake throws down a front seven and cracks his helmet. To tell you the truth the road trip out was more scary. Then Jessie talk about his glory days while the kids Laughed and teased him.

The kids kept up with the program but like with any training kids get tired fast and need rest. That's hard with so little time to learn and so many great riders emerging in Snowboarding today.

The New Zealand open is drawing near the boys are amped and decide to brake curfew and catch heat from their coach Jessie.

Jake was struggling with the landings but all in all for young kids they are on the right track to early retirement.

Most of the kids get stuff from sponsors and companies trying to get the word out about the goods.

Winter Jam 2009: Snowboarding in the East River Park NYC

In these hard times it's is hard to get the out doors so the city let Red Bull bring it to us this year. We took a short trip over the Williams Berg Bridge into the heart of Manhattans down town east river park. We even got to shout a question to Mayor Mike Bloomberg.

Shayne Pospisil Soars to new heights at Red Bull Snowscrapers 2009. Despite the cold weather people came out to see this one of a kind event. The event was held in the East River Park. The ramp was nine stories high but the winner Shayne Pospisil felt higher then that after beating out the sports best ever riders. Travis Rice,Terje Haakonsen, and Shawn White.

Skateboards Are True Works Of Art

When I was young the art on Skateboard Decks got me pumped. I guess because I am by no means an Artist. Skateboarding is what brought me to snowboarding my numbers one passion after Skateboarding. When I was young I had a complete Skateboard. Over time I became obsessed with Skateboards buying decks just for the art. This lead to me owning way too many Skateboards and Snowboards. I now look for good Art and functionality in a board. Know when I go riding I not only look good I am good. its all what you put into it. Start off with a board the grow from there. If you love the sport. you will not only put in the time but will have nice rides and Diggs.

The Board I had in Jr high school would take me three miles in a flash it was magical I swear. A few pumps would take you blocks. I was in good shape for my age. I think all parents show show there kids the way to Skateboarding ,snowboarding and swimming/diving. Depending on where you live there are city or county run parks where your kids can learn to soar wile your pockets rip at the seams.

The point is there is fun around us you just have to look for it.

Hello everyone welcome back to another great season of riding. We have lot planed for this year into the next. First we are headed to where we left off Breckenridge WOW what a mountain had a ton of fun Next week December 11th-15th we are headed back again to kick things off We stayed at the Beaver Run Resort This year we hope we will working with Beaver run was great. We are stating off the year back at Breckenridge and hope to stay at the Beaver Run it was perfect near lifts and village. After we return from Colorado We will be riding local getting ready for a trip to Canada. We have been requested by heliskiholiday to review RMH heli. On this trip we will be stopping by a local mountain maybe Bannif or Panorama. We head home to get ready for the Burton US Open at Stratton mountain in March last year we had press passes to this event and hope to do the same this year.

Waxing a snowboard how when where why?

OK When it comes to waxing your board when would be a good time well it all depends on if you did it at seasons end last April. If this is the case you are ready to glide on a smooth worry free surface. Waxing the board at the end of the season will keep the board nice during the hot summer months in the closet,Garage or attic. One thing to know is your snow. There are cold waxes and warm waxes so know where you are headed and buy the right wax for the trip you are going on snow temp is important to know.

1)When should you wax the board if you do it your self you can ride two to three times max riding is the longest you should go without waxing the board if you want to keep it nice and protected and get the best ride out of it.

2)Where anywhere you can i bring table mounts and find a place in a garage or out door area where it's not to cold. If it is really cold out the you need to wax it inside then place it outside to quick dry and then scrape the wax off and buff it.

3) Why we wax's because it's what keeps you sliding at max performance and protects the board.

How to wax what you will need

1)Wax for the type of snow you will be riding ask your local shop to help you find the right wax for the right temp.

2) A table

Breckenridge was one of the first mountains to have a permanent half pipe that was left in all season and not just for competion. Riding the lift with ease while snowboarding

One technique i learned over the years has been to control my board while getting off the lift. lets take a four man lift for the purpose of this lesson. OK if you are right foot forward first sit on the right side of the lift when you stand up to exit the lift you will need to clear the other riders so.

First stand up then place back of the back foot the one that is not strapped in over the heal edge of the board. This will help to turn you away from the rest of the riders and put your board in a position to stop with ease.

Second try it from the left side stand up and put the toes of your boot over the toe edge of your board this will take you left of all riders in a great position to stop with ease.

now sit in the middle get up place foot center on the board look forward to where you want the board to go. when you need to stop place back foot over the back end of the board to slow you to a stop from the drag applied by your boot.

The snow has been flying and will continue to fall at some record breaking rates. Here is some totals.

1) Vail powder alert 8" inch in 24 hrs with 32" total for the week and the snow is still coming down. Over two feet expected with more storms on the way.

2) Beaver Creek 8" in 24 hrs and 16 in 48 hrs with much more on the way.

3) Keystone was able to open 1700 Acres including outback & northpeak

4)Breckenridge is also under powder alert and has recived some high snow totals for the week and it is still snowing.

5) Even Heavenly in Lake Tahoe is getting hit hard.

Learn to ride in the trees with a snowboard

Tree or Glade riding can be fun and beautiful but safe is what you need to make it here is 8 things to remember while riding the in the glades or tree as most know them.

1) Never go in alone always ride in a group of three or more three can ride together if you have four two by two is the bes way.

2) Alway use radios and make sure the groups all have one if not regroup until you do all have phones or radios that work in that area nextel works real good. Bring extra batteries with you you never Know if you will be in too long.

3)always look at the gap between the trees never look at them. you control the board with your head where you look is where you will go.

4) Alway wear Helmet and Eye wear while riding in the trees be aware of branches and twigs that stick out of trees.

5) Alway Know where you are going use maps and know where you will end up. Always know where the lifts are slight drifts in your line can mean finding no lift and lots of miles to hike late at night when it's cold

6) Stay within the bounds of the resort doing otherwise without a guide could mean the end of your life.

7) alway look before coming out of trees and back onto trails.

8) never stop in tree next to the base of the tree it is sometime hollow and will take you in making it almost imposible to get out if you are lucky not to go head first under the snow at the base of that tree.

How to handle black ice while snowboarding

If You live on the east coast this is very common and lots of people get injured every year from black ice. Don't think it does not happen out on the west coast it does,black ice can happen even at the big mountains if conditions are right for black ice. So what do You do keep your eyes on changing conditions at all times. When you spot Ice call it to the riders behind You then if there is no time to go around You have to ride it out go on the ice look where you want the board to go in this case it straight no turns until that board hit turnable base also Known a snow. Turning On ice can put You out of the game for a while if not for good.

PS ride safe and in control at all times enjoy what the mountain has to offer.

1) bring an extra board unless You plan to buy one while on holiday.

2)extra bindings unless You plan to buy on location.

3) extra binding plates and screws these are a must!

4) Head count of who's going.

The easiest way to learn this is on a flat area with front foot strapped in and back out.

1) Place back foot against back binding from the center of the board.

2) Place weight on back foot like doing a wheelie.

3) When the front of the board lifts up pop up and forward to lift back end off ground.

4) stay centered land then try again until you got it.

5) strap in and take it to the slopes

Riding with one foot strapped in can help you ride better. When you first learned about snowboarding you had to learn to skate and ride with one foot strapped that being You front foot. This is like that only you will add a technique to the back foot that will help you steer better,get off lifts with ease and total control.

Start off skating with lead foot in and back foot out. Push off and get some speed then when you bring back foot off ground decide what turn to make toe or heel side turn. Place the back foot slightly over the edge you want to turn. This helps to get the edge up. After you master this take it to the lift.

If you are on the left or right side of lift depending on you stance you place back foot over the edge to move away from other riders exiting the lift in the middle you go straight leaving back foot center until your clear riders then shit foot over any edge to stop with control.

When I'm snowboarding i don't think about anything!!! All i think about is the next jump or turn. I love the breeze in my face and in my hair there is no feeling like it!!! Everyone should only know the feeling of riding up the lift and looking down seeing ur board daling in mid air and feeling like the cable is going to fray.. that's not stress!!(LOL). Then u arrive at the top of the mountain just wanting to strip in and get that breeze blowing in ur face & hair doing about 30 to 40 miles per hour there is just nothing like it.. I love it. Then all u want to do is just get to the bottom and start all over again. Then u say to yourself wow were is the next mountain that i can ride and of cause it has to be bigger,better and of cause longer trails. the whole expedience is just awesome u get to see so many different places on another level. I'm so happy i learned this sport because it just completes me as a person!! And there is nothing better about this being a stress releaser because all that is on ur mind it getting down that mountain just to get back up there!!! So for all those people that have stress strip ur board grab a couple of ur pals,pack the car to feel power under ur feet!!! Now that's a stress releaver!!!

Trying a 180 first time

Ok there are two ways to do this front side 180 where when You get to the point where You want to start the rotation and the front of your board will see down hill in air.

or back side where you take off 180 back side down hill first thing you see you will see is the up hill until you finish and land.

Practice often If you ride switch then try it that way I like to switch right before jump so I land in my normal position then you can do any way you like.

PS keep your head up during rotation and keep head to side of rotation until it's time to land spot it and land it.

I started on a 157 159 now the smallest I ride is 160-164-168 I love it but this a depends on where and when you ride. Getting back up after a spill

There are two things that get hurt during a fall your body then your pride and in comes the fear. So think about it knowing this there are only three things to do to get back on track for 2008.

1)Heal your body head to toe visualize next year in your head feel the first day of riding in your head.

2)who needs pride when you know pride is for things that don't progress in this sport your only proud for short periods before you find something bigger that come along.

3) Final FEAR OK let me show you fear if you fall and let it go to your head then next year will suck.

Riding in the trees is always fun and full of powder stashes If you know where to look.
I know what you are thinking and riding in the trees is easier then you think. and again you just have to know where to look. Look at the tree and you become the tree look at the gap and you shoot the gap with the flow of a river. Always look to where you would like the board to go and the board will respond to the thought that mind creates this is almost automatic except you have to look to the gaps in the trees. Never enter the trees alone and never go in without knowing where you will wind up And always have a way to reach the outside world. A map would not be a bad thing to carry and will not hurt.

PS a helmet will help keep you safer take you time have fun and enjoy you time in the trees it's a peaceful ride.

I don't know if you have ever had the chance to ride deep powder. If you had then you must have heard to set your bindings back one notch so the board will go under and then come to the top this makes you feel like you are floating on air. Don't worry this is easy to do and takes only about 20 min to get riding smooth. At first don't worry about leaning back that's why you set the bindings back so they can do all the work.

New High Speed Lift Provides Access to Symphony Amphitheatre, one of the Most Spectacular High Alpine Areas Available in North America

Whistler Blackcomb announced that the new lift-accessed area in the high alpine of Whistler Mountain will be crowned the Symphony Amphitheatre to reflect its spectacular natural amphitheatre-like terrain. The area will be accessed by the newly named Symphony Express.

The Symphony Amphitheatre brings to the fore one of Whistler Mountain's favorite in-bounds backcountry experiences. Long referred to by locals as the Musical Bumps, Piccolo, Symphony and Flute Bowls are the encore to Whistler's Harmony Bowl, but until now have been reserved for those willing to hike for their turns. This winter, the Symphony Express will provide access to over 1,000 acres of this intermediate and advanced terrain.

The zone's new name was inspired by the area's natural theatre-like setting with its unmatched views, vast open bowls, deep snow and gladed finales. Following the theme, the area also features new run names such as Rhapsody Bowl, Adagio, Founders’ Run, Staccato Glades, Glissando Glades, Encore Ridge, Flute Bowl, North Flute Bowl and Hidden Chute. These new trails add to the established runs in the region such as Burnt Stew Trail, Symphony Bowl, Sun Bowl, Harvey's Harrow, Robertson's Run and Crescendo. Founders' Run will be dedicated to the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation who will auction the run name annually to the highest bidder.

Construction is well underway on the new Symphony Express and the lift towers are expected to be flown in by mid-September in time for the lift to open with the winter season this November. For the leagues of Whistler Blackcomb faithful, this year's expansion announcement is music to their ears. For those less familiar with North America's largest winter resort and its unmatched high alpine experience, the unveiling of the new Symphony Express lift and Symphony Amphitheatre region will serve as added motivation for exploring everything Whistler Blackcomb has to offer.

Understanding The Exclusive World of Heliskiing

British Columbia Heliski operators are scattered throughout this mountainous province from north to south and east to west. The combination of snowfall, cool temperatures and regular breaks in weather systems make for an ideal powder playground.

The differences between the operations are in the accommodation, the types of helicopters, the sizes of the groups, the numbers of groups per helicopter, and the locations of the lodges (some are remote; some are in towns). Some operations specialize in daily heliskiing from a ski resort while others offer only multi-day trips from a destination or remote lodge. Each operator offers the same base experience: they all have access to vast expanses of terrain.

Operators are members of the Heli Cat Canada Association and their mandate is to ensure that no matter which operation is chosen, the safety measures taken are all the same. “No one operation is safer than any other.”

Riding With Lifters Good Or Bad

I love to ride lifter but not everyone does.for me I like the way they allow me to turn on the dime and always allot easier on the body it's smooth fast slick and makes for one sick ride. I would like to hear how you feel about lifters Good or Not see Ya.

Now that you know how to ride your felling good You want to learn to jump. It's a feeling you cant get enough you keep going for more. So how do you jump if you never did before.1)in a flat area on the snow out of the way by the base of the mountain with one foot in this being your front. Place loose foot on the board pressed against back binding lean back as if you wanted to wheelie push tail of board and like a pogo. just enough to level you out in the air so the board don't come out from under you when you take air.
2)Take it to a jump start riding towards ramp start off on something small.in a low ridding position crouch over toe edge Take a few turns to control speed but make sure you let it go in time to clear the knuckle its always better to land on the down slope your knees will thank you. when you get to top of ramp just lean back pop the board to level out spot landing and land with the whole board not the tip not the tail. kind of like an airplane.let me know how it goes for you.

What's Stoping You From Riding Switch???

There are several Ways that you can become a better switch rider then you ever thought possible.

1 You need to first stop riding with the back foot at zero Degrees move to about three degrees duck out what we mean by ducked out simply that your two feet angle out from each other. This will allow for the movement you need in you back knee so that it is not strained and will drive the board in the proper direction that you want that board to go. The main reason you can't do this set at zero is because zero is for beginners so that they get forced to stop the board from spinning complete circles this is not fun you can also spin be setting the back foot To a degree that you are not ready for just yet.

2 Your back foot should either degrees to start no more then six if you feel you can handle that which is not that bad. The whole point is to gradualy work you way up to anywhere you feel your riding will advance. Some riders are set fifteen front fifteen back or even as much as eighteen on front and eighteen on the back so find what works for you. Be sure to start off slow and you will learn how to control that board like you where born with it attached to your feet.

3 You can either try the switch from dead stop by looking up the mountain on your toe edge. then get up let your head turn to your shoulder. when you head hits shoulder continue that motion with shoulders so that shoulder drops in the line you want. look up and where you would like to go and the board will follow. And never look down because this is where you will spend Your time.

4 If you get comfortable with number three you are ready to switch on the move. When you do this you will be riding normal then start to look over your front shoulder looking up hill just enough to bring that board around.When this happens shift head back down hill and lean onto front Knee you will find a comfortable spot just sit in that stance and control the board. now you are ready to try butters and from there we will talk 180- 360 pops and hops grinds and more.

Geting off the lift made easy

Getting off the lift you have one leg strapt in and the back foot out. Ok what we are going to try is a slight shift in the placement of that back foot depending on how you have to turn. as a right foot foward rider sitting on the far right You will be makeing a heel turn. when you stand up to ride off ramp place back foot over back edge of the board to apply pressure to edge to turn you away from the other riders exiting the lift and please always look where you want to go and the board will follow even with the back foot out you will become very good at this over time. as right foot foward rider on the left you will shift to apply pressure to toe edge of the board and if you are in the middle put foot centered and ride stright look where you are going let others worry about where the have to go and this should make you loading and unloading more successful.
